Since my son was born I have been trying to do a photoshoot with him every month to capture his little milestones in his life.  I haven’t been posting them… well I should say I haven’t been posting them on my photography blog.  They are all over my Facebook page and family blog.  But I wanted to share these and than below is Jackson’s progression from birth.  Just because it is fun to see a little baby growing.  And boy has my “little” baby grown!  It goes too quickly that’s for sure.  I find myself looking back at the pictures when he was born and I cherish those pictures.  It’s amazing how much family/pictures of your children mean to you.  I couldn’t even put a price tag on it.  It just brings back all the memories of the first couple months of his life and how much he has grown and changed since than.  You tend to get caught up in the every day to day life and forget those special moments until you look back on your pictures.

On Sunday Madie will be turning two years old so her Mom Jessa and I met up to capture this milestone in her life.  We went to Wind & Sea Beach to take some pictures.   We were also able to snag a few pictures of Emily in her blessing gown before we went to the beach.  I think Wind and Sea is becoming one of my favorite beaches to take pictures at.  It seems to be one of the least crowded beaches in San Diego.  Not sure why, it is a great beach!  Plus there is plenty of parking.  Not like La Jolla Cove or other beaches where you spend 30 minutes just trying to find a parking spot.  The weather was great too.  It was a little over cast, but it wasn’t cold unlike last weekend.  It seems to be finally warming up in San Diego.  But if it stays cool awhile longer I won’t complain. 🙂  I have had my fair share of hot weather living in Arizona most of my life.  So here is our morning with Emily and Madie.  I love photographing these little girls!

In my family most of my cousins that we saw regularly were boys…  and one of those boys was Jeremy Olsen (he is the Dad in these pictures.)  Jeremy, his brothers and my brother Dave were just merciless to me growing up.  Ok, maybe we were all like that to each other, but come on…  It was 4 boys against me!  Actually their youngest brother and I banded together, but I was a traitor and was mean to him too.  It was a vicious cycle, but in the end we made a lot of great memories and life time friends.  I think it was our goal to out wit each other and see how far we could get away with playing practical jokes on each other.

It seemed like every summer they would stay with us or we would stay with them.  Than when we got older they moved to where we lived and we saw each other all the time.  We sure went through our ups and downs with each other, but in the end we made some memories we all look back on and laugh at.  They were definitely some good times and I cherish them.  Now we are all old and grown up with our own kids.  It is so weird.  We are actually responsible adults now!  Who let us do that?  🙂  So I was excited to photograph Jeremy’s family yesterday at Coronado Island.  Jeremy and his wife Trish just had their 3rd baby right before Thanksgiving last year and it was my first time meeting Kimber and taking pictures of her.  It was a lot of fun for me to capture this family’s life as it grows.  Jeremy’s parents also came to San Diego with them so I was able to take some pictures of my Aunt and Uncle too.  My Aunt and Uncle were some people who were always there for me when I was growing up and I can never express how appreciative I was for that love and support.  I was excited to spend time with all of them this weekend.

Emily Lane Smith was born on February 27th, 2010 and is the newest member of the Smith family.  Today I got to photograph Emily, her big sister Madie and her Mom.  Hopefully in the next week or so, we will get Dad in there too.  But for now here are the adorable Smith girls.

My little baby is growing so quickly and I am hoping to capture every moment as much as I can.  In two more days my little monkey will be officially 2 months old!  And to celebrate that… he is going to get his first immunization shots Friday morning.  Awwww… poor little guy.  We are not looking forward to that trip.  Since I am a crazy Mom I will probably celebrate his 2 months on earth with some cake and ice cream that night.  That or I just want an excuse to celebrate and eat junk food. 🙂  Jackson really can’t enjoy that food yet, but Mom and Dad can!  Hehehe…

Comments Off on Almost Two Months Old

So I have been waiting and waiting so patiently to photograph this baby.  I have been waiting exactly 9 months. 🙂  Jackson Horn is the newest member of my family.  I gave birth to him on January 12, 2010 at 4:12pm. He weighed in at 8lbs 10 ounces measuring 21.5 inches in length. He is our little chunky monkey!  Well, actually he is not really chubby… He is just very long.  I have a feeling he is going to be tall like his Daddy.  He has really long feet, long fingers and long legs!  Oh and long eyelashes… boy are those wasted on boys.  He won’t ever appreciate his long eyelashes.

Jackson had a few complications which made it necessary to deliver him via C-Section.  He is doing great now and Jackson and I are hanging out at home letting Mom recover.  I should be good to go in a few weeks.  I am actually healing very fast so I should be ok to do photo shoots/weddings soon.  I can’t wait to get back into the swing of things too.  I miss it!  In the mean time I am doing my own photo shoots on my son.  So far he doesn’t hate my camera!  I hope it stays that way!  Here are a few of my favorites from our photo shoot today.

Yesterday I got to meet the newest member of the Milne family.  Little baby Lucy was so precious!  She is almost 2 weeks old and growing so fast.  I was so excited that our friends Brad and Allie asked me to photograph their little one and them.  Here are a few of my favorite pictures from that shoot.  Most of these pictures were taken at Woodglen Vista Park in Santee.  It is one of my favorite parks! 🙂

Yesterday I was able to take some newborn shots of baby Nicholas.  Well, kind of newborn.  He is about 7 weeks old, so close enough…  I absolutely love taking pictures of babies and Nicholas was so much fun to photograph.  I even got to hold him at the end of the shoot and to my surprise, I put him to sleep with out meaning too.  I hope I will have that touch with my own baby once it comes. 🙂
