The Smith family is one of my long time faithful clients and of course our friends. I started photographing this family when their oldest daughter Madie was born. Now she is walking and talking! It’s been fun watching this little family grow and being able to capture all their moments. This morning I met them at Balboa Park. Of course, one of my favorite places to shoot. 🙂 It was a gorgeous day and I couldn’t have asked for better weather. I photographed the girls a few weeks ago, but we wanted Ben in the pictures so we could get the whole family with their newest edition… Emily! We also had their “Nana” Debbie come along to get some pictures with her girls as well. Here are a few favorites.
Always good for a laugh Ben…

In my family most of my cousins that we saw regularly were boys… and one of those boys was Jeremy Olsen (he is the Dad in these pictures.) Jeremy, his brothers and my brother Dave were just merciless to me growing up. Ok, maybe we were all like that to each other, but come on… It was 4 boys against me! Actually their youngest brother and I banded together, but I was a traitor and was mean to him too. It was a vicious cycle, but in the end we made a lot of great memories and life time friends. I think it was our goal to out wit each other and see how far we could get away with playing practical jokes on each other.
It seemed like every summer they would stay with us or we would stay with them. Than when we got older they moved to where we lived and we saw each other all the time. We sure went through our ups and downs with each other, but in the end we made some memories we all look back on and laugh at. They were definitely some good times and I cherish them. Now we are all old and grown up with our own kids. It is so weird. We are actually responsible adults now! Who let us do that? 🙂 So I was excited to photograph Jeremy’s family yesterday at Coronado Island. Jeremy and his wife Trish just had their 3rd baby right before Thanksgiving last year and it was my first time meeting Kimber and taking pictures of her. It was a lot of fun for me to capture this family’s life as it grows. Jeremy’s parents also came to San Diego with them so I was able to take some pictures of my Aunt and Uncle too. My Aunt and Uncle were some people who were always there for me when I was growing up and I can never express how appreciative I was for that love and support. I was excited to spend time with all of them this weekend.

Yesterday I met Justin & Haley. They are getting married in January and since I will be having my baby close to their wedding date I will not be able to photograph their wedding. I was so bummed about that, but very excited that they wanted me to still shoot their engagement pictures. We spent the afternoon at Balboa Park and the weather couldn’t have been better. I really enjoyed my time with them. Here are a few pictures from that session.

Ashley and Kyle welcomed baby Caleb into the world on September 6th. This little guy is only a week old right now! Kyle is currently serving in our Country’s Military and he won’t be home for very long to spend time with his baby and wife. He will be going back to his base in a few days and than he is being deployed to the Middle East for a year. For Kyle to have this time with his son is so precious. I felt honored to be able to capture the pictures of this small family together. I hope these pictures will help keep them all connected as they spend this long and hard time away from each other.

Madie just turned one years old on July 11th so we went to Summer’s Past Farm in Flinn Springs to capture this milestone in her life. It was my first time going to Summer’s Past and now it will be one of my most favorite places to take pictures at. My sister lives near Summer’s Past and every time I have driven by I kept telling myself I wanted to do a photo shoot there. So I was pretty excited for this shoot. Here is Summers Past Farm’s website. I have to give them some free publicity! ;o)

They have a plant and herb nursery, an herbal soap shop, a tea/coffee shop and the most amazing gardens! Absolutely beautiful! They also host weddings there for anyone that is interested. It is absolutely charming! Check it out if you can. Anyways, here are a few fun pictures from that photo shoot.

Today I got the chance to photograph the Bertussi family. It was such a pleasure to work with them. They were so much fun and lively. We went to our church building and took pictures there. I have to say it is one of my favorite spots to take pictures now. It has beautiful landscaping! Here are a few of my favorite pictures from today.

Yesterday I met Randy and Katie at Sunset Cliffs to do their engagement photos. We were a little worried about the weather cooperating with us, but it turned out to work in our favor. The clouds really enhanced the sunset. I had a lot of fun photographing Randy and Katie. They are such a fun couple! They both met while surfing so how fitting that their engagement pictures are done at the beach. Here are a few of my favorite photos from that photo shoot.

Don & Amy are my husband’s Dad and Step Mom. For Christmas they wanted to do a photo shoot of them together. The last picture they had done of themselves was at our wedding and that was 5 years ago. They were well over due for some new pictures. So we went to their house in Ramona and found this beautiful area by their house. This area was absolutely breath taking. Towards the end of the shoot we took some pictures of my husband and his Dad. Unfortunately my husband’s brother did not come up so we couldn’t get a picture of Don and his boys. Oh well, maybe next time.
