Look Who’s Turning 2!!! August 23, 2015 at 1:24 pm

My baby is getting so big!  In one more week, he will be 2 years old!  Before he turned 2, I wanted to get some pictures of him taken, as well as his big brother.  It’s been awhile since I’ve done a photoshoot for the both of them, so these are well over due! 🙂  As I was trying to decide on where to take the pictures at, a thought occurred to me.  I have never done a photoshoot for either of the boys, at the beach.  I would say it’s the most requested location when taking pictures.  I think I have avoided it for so long, since it is so popular.  But we love the beach and it really is pretty there, so I decided, it’s about time I take advantage of that awesome location for my own kids.  We drove down to my favorite spot, Windansea Beach.  Windansea beach is a hot spot for surfers, because of the steep ocean floor slopes, which creates powerful waves.  Because this beach has a strong shore break, I find it to be one of the less crowded beaches and ideal for pictures.  Plus, I rarely have issues finding parking, which is a HUGE plus.  If it’s a hot day or a holiday, than it doesn’t matter.  All beaches will be crowded, so don’t go saying I lied, if you decide to go on a holiday or hot day! 🙂

I love his little laugh!  He is so full of life and energy!  I sure love this little guy!

Big brother Jackson!

And the bloopers…  I am really not sure what either of them were doing here!

Three Generations at 12:50 pm

My friend Jamie came to San Diego to visit friends and family this past week and I am glad we were able to see each other quite a bit while she was here.  Jamie was one of my first friends when I moved to San Diego.  We have known each other many years and she is someone that has been there for me through the ups and downs.  I feel blessed to have her as a friend.  While she was here, she wanted to get some pictures done of her and her girls, along with both her Grandmas and Mom.  I love doing generation pictures.  We were able to do that with Don’s Grandma before she passed away and I treasure that picture to this day.  Among the many pictures we took, I wanted to do one with all three generations of hands.  We had both Grandmas, one hand on each side, Jamie’s Mom, Jamie and both her daughters.

Kelly’s Graduation Pictures April 18, 2015 at 9:01 am

Yesterday, I met up with Kelly to take her graduation pictures.  Kelly is my cousin in law and one of my kid’s favorite baby sitter!!!  They absolutely adore Kelly and so do we!  It feels like yesterday that I was taking Kelly’s High School graduation pictures.  Now she’s all grown up and graduating from college next month!  I am so proud of her!  She has worked so hard for this.  When we were talking about where she wanted to take her pictures, she said she wanted to do them at San Diego State University, Since that’s the school she is graduating from.  I was so excited to do her pictures there!  SDSU has such a pretty campus, lots of fun architecture and pretty scenery.  As we were taking pictures, Kelly mentioned that the film Bring it On, used San Diego State University for the high school in the movie.  I looked it up and apparently a lot of the exterior shots were filmed at the main campus of SDSU. The gymnasium scenes were filmed at Academy of Our Lady of Peace, the football scenes were filmed at Eastlake High School, the Clover’s East Compton High School was Kearny High School and the Cheerleading Semi-Finals, were filmed at the old Alliant International University.  Now I want to go re-watch the movie to see if I recognize anything!  Here are a few of my favorite pictures from her photoshoot.

Obuljen Family Pictures December 7, 2014 at 9:27 pm

Today I met the Obuljen’s at Balboa Park for their family pictures.  I love Balboa Park to begin with, but I fell in love with it even more during December!!!  Balboa really gets into the Christmas decorations.  I had a lot of fun with it and of course, had wonderful subjects to photograph.  I actually work with the Dad Stanko and have met his family a few times over the years.  When he approached me about taking pictures, I was so excited.  They are just a beautiful and fun family!  Stanko’s ethnicity is Croatian, with a name like his, you know you were wondering!!!  I will never forget the day he first started working for the company I work for.  We heard his name and I thought, wow, this guy is going to have some cool accent.  With a name like Stanko Obuljen, I imagined some Russian guy with a thick accent.  Much to my disappointment, he did not have an accent.  🙁  He was born and raised here in California and has a thick California accent.  Just kidding, I don’t think Californian’s have an accent?  Maybe people on the east coast would disagree…  Anyways, I had a lot of fun photographing this family.  Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the sesh.

The Obuljen’s of Whoville! 😉  Ok, so this tree was pretty awesome!

Brother & Sisterly Love December 6, 2014 at 5:02 pm

Yesterday, I met up with my husband’s cousins Kelly & Dustin, to take a few pictures for their Mom.  I love taking pictures of these two.  They are such hams and Kelly is so photogenic.

Smile Kelly!

The night before, their Mom Kris, sent me a picture that she loved when they were kids.  So naturally, we just had to re-create it!!!  Of course it didn’t turn out exactly like the original picture, but it was close enough.

The Deering Family at 4:51 pm

Last weekend, I met the Deering’s at Old Poway Park.  It’s one of my favorite locations, but this time of year is SOOOOOOO busy!!!  We managed to make it work though.  On our way home, I found a fun new spot that I’ve been searching and searching for.  It wasn’t easy to find, so I am not giving up my secret location!!!  Here are a few of my favorite pictures.

James’ Family & Friends at 4:40 pm

The week of Thanksgiving, I met Matt and his family, (plus a few friend’s of theirs,) to take their annual family pictures.  We ventured down to Cabrillo National Monument and I loved it.  I’ve never been there, so it was fun for me to go to a new place.  Here are a few of my favorites.
