My brother in law Mike (the little brother I never had) is graduating this year. When I met Mike, he was 10 year’s old. It’s been fun seeing him grow up and become the man he is today. To say the least, I was excited to take his senior pictures for him today.
Originally I had this vision for Mike’s pictures. I wanted to go Downtown and take some really cool grungy urban shots. Due to a series of conflicting events, tonight was my only night to do pictures and we were a bit limited. We stayed close to home since Don was on call and I wanted to be close enough to go back home to watch our son in case he got a call. My favorite place to shoot in Santee is at the park by my house, but I decided to do something different. I didn’t see Mike as a park kind of guy, even though he was perfectly ok with that. So we went to a few locations through out East County in the small amount of time we had. Our first stop was good ole’ Lakeside. And this was not the nice part of Lakeside mind you! I wanted some grungy shots and I was going to find it some where. Even if it was in Lakeside. This little spot is located next to a run down trailer park and some falling apart industrial buildings. That’s the first place most people would love to get their pictures taken right?!?! 🙂
Next stop was my old church building in Lakeside. I am a huge sucker for red bricks. I just love them and the texture in it!
This last spot is an area I drive by every single day. I’ve been wanting to take someone’s picture here for quite some time now. I am also a sucker for brush and nature. This photoshoot had the best of all kinds of stuff! For anyone that knows Santee, I would like to see if they can guess where this is at.

On Saturday I met Beverly at Balboa Park to take her senior pictures. It was cold and it was kind of raining, actually it was more misty than rainy. Needless to say Beverly was a trooper and had no protests to getting on the grass (even though it was wet.) She was up for anything. I was glad she did because we got some great pictures from that. It was a lot of fun inspite of the may gray weather we were having. Here are a few fun pictures from that session.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to photograph Annie for her Senior pictures. I have known Annie since she was a little girl and I can’t believe she is already a senior! What an exciting time for her. Annie is also an excellent dancer. She has quite the talent for it. We were able to get a few shots of her in her dancing uniform for school as well. Here are some of my favorites!

So my brother in law Jon contacted me about getting his pictures taken so he could give them out to family members for Christmas. Which surprised me since he does not like getting his picture taken. So I thought what a perfect time to get all the boys together to get their pictures taken. It is nice to have individual portraits, but I know their parents and Grandmas would love pictures of all the boys. So we went to Balboa Park and here is what we came up with.

My sister introduced me to Randa and we instantly instantly hit it off. Probably because we shared the same obsession for the Twilight series! :o) We had so much fun at La Jolla Cove just playing and taking pictures. Here are a few of my favorite ones from that photo shoot.
