Brooke & Amanda’s Senior Photoshoot May 15, 2017 at 7:41 pm

A few weekends ago, San Diego got a random storm come through.  It was rainy, cold and windy.  We scheduled this photoshoot awhile back, thinking the weather would be nice for that weekend.  Because why not, every single weekend prior to that has been beautiful!!!  instead, the whole weekend it rained.  Right up until the photoshoot, we kept debating if we should cancel, since it was pouring rain in some areas of San Diego and other areas, it was sprinkling.  My weather app said there would be no rain for a few hours in La Jolla, so we decided to risk it and go for it.  We all arrived in La Jolla and thankfully, there was no rain… but it was very cold and windy!  We battled with the wind for awhile and finally we decided to go down lower into the cove, hoping the wind would subside down there.  Thankfully, the wind stopped as soon as we walked down there.  Thank goodness!  Those poor girls were freezing and their hair was going everywhere.  They were both troopers though and toughed it out.

Brooke and Amanda are both graduating next month and since they are very good friends, they wanted to do some pictures together.  They were so much fun to shoot.  Here are a few favorites.

Trying to recreate the Iconic Titanic scene. ;o)

Which was promptly followed by a wave trying to get them.

Kelly’s Graduation Pictures April 18, 2015 at 9:01 am

Yesterday, I met up with Kelly to take her graduation pictures.  Kelly is my cousin in law and one of my kid’s favorite baby sitter!!!  They absolutely adore Kelly and so do we!  It feels like yesterday that I was taking Kelly’s High School graduation pictures.  Now she’s all grown up and graduating from college next month!  I am so proud of her!  She has worked so hard for this.  When we were talking about where she wanted to take her pictures, she said she wanted to do them at San Diego State University, Since that’s the school she is graduating from.  I was so excited to do her pictures there!  SDSU has such a pretty campus, lots of fun architecture and pretty scenery.  As we were taking pictures, Kelly mentioned that the film Bring it On, used San Diego State University for the high school in the movie.  I looked it up and apparently a lot of the exterior shots were filmed at the main campus of SDSU. The gymnasium scenes were filmed at Academy of Our Lady of Peace, the football scenes were filmed at Eastlake High School, the Clover’s East Compton High School was Kearny High School and the Cheerleading Semi-Finals, were filmed at the old Alliant International University.  Now I want to go re-watch the movie to see if I recognize anything!  Here are a few of my favorite pictures from her photoshoot.

Kelly Rowland’s Graduation Pictures May 2, 2010 at 9:30 am

No not Kelly Rowland the singer…  :o)  This Kelly Rowland is my husband’s cousin.  She is graduating high school in June.  It is crazy to see these kids growing up so fast.  It sure makes me feel old!  Yesterday we went to Balboa Park and took her pictures there.  It was a gorgeous day with a nice cool breeze to cool us down.  Kelly was an awesome model.  She was even patient while I practiced a few techniques I learned earlier that day in my flash photography class.  Anyways we are proud of Kelly and excited for the next chapter in her life at San Diego State College.  Here are a few pictures from yesterday:

Graduation and Family Pictures at 9:23 am

On Friday I finally got to photography my sister’s family.  It’s about time!!!  I have been doing photography for awhile now and this is the first time I have photographed their family!  They are not big picture people…  It took , my sister’s husband to graduate to get these pictures done. :o)  I said what’s going to be the next big event to make you guys take pictures!?!?!  So my brother in law is graduating this Month from SDSU.  It has been a long road and he finally did it.  We are very excited for him and his family.  I know it has been a sacrifice for everyone during this long journey so we are very proud of him.  We went to San Diego State University to take their pictures.  I have never been there before and I was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the campus was.  Here are a few of my favorites:

I especially loved this picture for the meaning behind it.  The message I was trying to portray was the family behind my brother in law.  Through his whole college education his family was behind him 100% supporting him along the way.  They are truly a close tight knit family.

Truth be told, this was how most of the shoot went.  I had to delete a lot of pictures because at least one of them was being silly in the picture.  So this one I got ALL of them being silly.  This is their personality so we had to show it.  I love my nieces and nephews.  They are always good for a fun picture.
