Look Who’s Turning 2!!! August 23, 2015 at 1:24 pm

My baby is getting so big!  In one more week, he will be 2 years old!  Before he turned 2, I wanted to get some pictures of him taken, as well as his big brother.  It’s been awhile since I’ve done a photoshoot for the both of them, so these are well over due! 🙂  As I was trying to decide on where to take the pictures at, a thought occurred to me.  I have never done a photoshoot for either of the boys, at the beach.  I would say it’s the most requested location when taking pictures.  I think I have avoided it for so long, since it is so popular.  But we love the beach and it really is pretty there, so I decided, it’s about time I take advantage of that awesome location for my own kids.  We drove down to my favorite spot, Windansea Beach.  Windansea beach is a hot spot for surfers, because of the steep ocean floor slopes, which creates powerful waves.  Because this beach has a strong shore break, I find it to be one of the less crowded beaches and ideal for pictures.  Plus, I rarely have issues finding parking, which is a HUGE plus.  If it’s a hot day or a holiday, than it doesn’t matter.  All beaches will be crowded, so don’t go saying I lied, if you decide to go on a holiday or hot day! 🙂

I love his little laugh!  He is so full of life and energy!  I sure love this little guy!

Big brother Jackson!

And the bloopers…  I am really not sure what either of them were doing here!

Three Generations at 12:50 pm

My friend Jamie came to San Diego to visit friends and family this past week and I am glad we were able to see each other quite a bit while she was here.  Jamie was one of my first friends when I moved to San Diego.  We have known each other many years and she is someone that has been there for me through the ups and downs.  I feel blessed to have her as a friend.  While she was here, she wanted to get some pictures done of her and her girls, along with both her Grandmas and Mom.  I love doing generation pictures.  We were able to do that with Don’s Grandma before she passed away and I treasure that picture to this day.  Among the many pictures we took, I wanted to do one with all three generations of hands.  We had both Grandmas, one hand on each side, Jamie’s Mom, Jamie and both her daughters.

The Deering Family December 6, 2014 at 4:51 pm

Last weekend, I met the Deering’s at Old Poway Park.  It’s one of my favorite locations, but this time of year is SOOOOOOO busy!!!  We managed to make it work though.  On our way home, I found a fun new spot that I’ve been searching and searching for.  It wasn’t easy to find, so I am not giving up my secret location!!!  Here are a few of my favorite pictures.

The Carman Family October 23, 2014 at 7:00 pm

I have had the privilege of photographing these two little adorable kids since they were little babies.  Can’t believe how grown up they are now and they are such great kids!  Little Cade is already walking and running around, feels like I just did his newborn pictures!  I met the Carman family at Santee Lakes and it was so busy there with birthday parties, people fishing and enjoying the beautiful day!  I knew it would be a bit of a challenge to try and not include birthday parties and a bunch of other random people in their photos, but we managed it!  🙂  It truly was a beautiful day and we were blessed with the that famous
California golden sunshine, that we pay all those high taxes for! 😉

Travis’ Turns 1! March 17, 2013 at 10:09 pm

I meet the Espley family back in December when I did their Christmas pictures and I was so thrilled they hired me to photograph their son’s 1st birthday.  I am even more excited to do his 1 year photoshoot next week at one of my most favorite locations!!!  Spoiler alert… the place will have trains and train tracks!

Kristina did an amazing job on all the decorations!  I think she needs to hire herself out to do parties! ;o)  Hint, hint…  I took many, many, many pictures, but I am only including a handful in this blog.  I have to show off some of her amazing decorations and a few memorable moments of course.  By the way, I loved the theme!  My son’s first birthday was Sesame Street as well, but my son’s party was not as cool as Travis’.  You are one lucky kid Travis!

The James Boys December 1, 2012 at 1:37 pm

This morning I spent it with the James boys at Kit Carson Park.  Which by the way is a new favorite place of mine!  Thank you Matt for suggesting it!  Tucked away in the back, Kit Carson park has an awesome sculpture garden called Queen Califia’s Magical Circle Garden.  This garden was created by the late, internationally famous Niki de Saint Phalle.  It is one of the four large-scale sculptural environments designed and built by the artist and her studio collaborators and the only one located in the United States.  Niki de Saint Phalle chose the mythical Queen Califia as her subject.  Califia is an Amazon warrior and has been depicted as the Spirit of California.  She often figures in the myth of California’s origin, symbolizing an untamed and bountiful land prior to European settlement.  This garden is so whimsical and nothing short of fantastic.  I felt like I stepped into Alice’s Wonderland.  With that said, here are a few of my favorite pictures from today that were in the sculpture garden and in Kit Carson Park.

Their Dad calls the twin boys “Search and Destroy.”  I LOVE it and I think he needs to make T-shirts for them that say that!  Thankfully, they were not on a search and destroy mission during the photoshoot.  They were great!

The boys played a little frisbee golf during the photoshoot, so of course we had to include one of the pictures from that!

And last but not least, I snagged an artsy self portrait of myself! ;o)  I just happened to pop up in the reflection of the mirror and I couldn’t resist!  Love all the rain drops on the glass and colors!
